We Treat SEO Like a Science. Because That's What It Is.
A few years back, our team did something most SEO agencies never bother to do. We analyzed over 5,000 ranking factors across hundreds of medical keywords, tracked patient search behavior across 12 specialties, and asked one simple question: what actually determines whether a healthcare page ranks or doesn't?
The Discovery
It wasn't word count.
It wasn't domain age.
It was precision. How completely a page covered its topic. How efficiently it used relevant terms, entities, and contextual language relative to the total words on the page. We called this measurement Contextual Density, and once we started optimizing for it, everything changed.
We don't guess at what Google wants to see on a plastic surgeon's service page or a sports medicine clinic's homepage. We calculate it, benchmark it against the competitors already ranking, and build content that beats them on the metric that matters most.

Meet the Team

Éric didn't start in SEO. He started in finance, which is probably why he approaches search the way a researcher approaches a problem rather than the way a marketer approaches a campaign.
Where He Came From
Éric spent years as a Vice President at CIBC and later as General Manager of Guardian Asset Management before founding an online brokerage that he scaled to international reach. When he later needed to build visibility for his daughter's startup, MiumMium, he didn't hire an agency. He dug into the data himself and figured out how search actually worked, not how the industry said it worked. That platform now operates in over 70 countries.
How the Methodology Was Born
That experience changed everything. He saw that most agencies were optimizing based on assumptions and best guesses. So when he founded ProStar SEO in 2019, he built it around a different premise:
Search rankings follow patterns. Patterns follow data. Data can be measured and replicated.
He spent years testing, documenting, and refining until the methodology was solid enough to produce predictable results. Contextual Density came out of that process. It's a formula, not a philosophy:
(Keyword variations + Relevant entities + LSI terms) / (Total words - Stop words) x 100
When you optimize for that number and beat the competitors already on page one, you outrank them. It works consistently because it reflects how Google actually evaluates topical relevance.
Why He Built Med SEO
Medical content lives under Google's YMYL guidelines, which means it gets scrutinized at a higher level than almost any other category online. Generic SEO agencies fail their healthcare clients not because they don't try, but because they don't understand the standard they're being held to. Éric does, and he built a team around that understanding.
Today he leads research, strategy, and our AI search optimization work, making sure Med SEO clients show up not just on Google but in ChatGPT, Perplexity, and the AI platforms increasingly shaping how patients find care.
Bernard has a background in finance and computer science, which means he thinks about content the same way an engineer thinks about a system. Every component has a function. If the output isn't right, you trace back through the inputs until you find what's off.
His Background
Bernard studied extensively and worked in the banking industry before moving into SEO. That analytical foundation turned out to be a significant advantage. While most content strategists think about SEO in terms of writing quality, Bernard thinks about it in terms of data: Which terms does Google expect to see on this page? At what frequency? In what structure? What does it take to establish topical authority for this specific keyword?
What He Built at ProStar SEO
At ProStar SEO, Bernard grew from account manager to Partner and Director of Operations, eventually overseeing content production across hundreds of optimized pages per month. He worked hands-on with clients in medical, pharmaceutical, legal, and financial verticals. Those are industries where being imprecise simply isn't an option, and that discipline carried directly into his work at Med SEO.
What He Does Here
Bernard is responsible for making sure the science actually gets applied. He reviews every campaign, validates that Contextual Density targets are being hit, and holds content to the standard that earns rankings in a YMYL category. When a practice needs to outrank a regional hospital group or a competitor with a much larger budget, Bernard builds the plan that makes it possible. In healthcare SEO, a well-executed methodology beats a bigger budget every time.

Thomas sees search differently than most people in the industry because he has spent his career working both sides of it simultaneously.
The Dual-Channel Advantage
Most SEO specialists don't run paid campaigns, and most PPC managers don't think much about organic strategy. Thomas does both. That changes how he approaches a healthcare client's visibility problem:
Organic SEO builds long-term authority that compounds over months and years. Paid campaigns capture high-intent searches happening right now. Both together, coordinated around the same patient acquisition goals, produce results neither channel can achieve alone.
His Track Record
Thomas developed this expertise working on some of ProStar SEO's most demanding accounts, where clients needed results quickly while also building sustainable long-term rankings. That combination of patience and urgency translates well to healthcare, where a practice might be losing ten new patients a month to a competitor who ranks above them on a single keyword. Thomas knows how to stop that in the short term while building the foundation that wins permanently.
His Role at Med SEO
Thomas manages client accounts from onboarding through ongoing optimization. He's the person who practices speak with week to week, the one who translates the data into plain language and keeps strategy connected to the outcomes that actually matter. His job isn't to improve a dashboard. It's to grow a practice.
The Framework Behind Everything We Do
How Google Actually Evaluates a Page
Google can't read a page the way a person reads it. What it can do is count: which terms appear, how often, how they relate to each other, and how that distribution compares to the pages already ranking for a given search.
When Google evaluates a page about knee replacement surgery, it has a model of what a comprehensive, authoritative page on that topic looks like, built from every page it has ever indexed. Your page either matches that model or it doesn't.
What Contextual Density Measures
Contextual Density measures how well a page covers its topic relative to its length:
High density: broad topic coverage, no wasted words, strong topical signal
Low density: missing important terms, or too much filler diluting the signal
Our target: the density point where your page becomes the most complete, most relevant result for your keyword
We don't aim for an arbitrary threshold. We benchmark against the competitors already ranking on page one for your specific keywords. We're trying to beat the exact pages that are currently taking your patients.
What Everything Else Is For
The content structure, schema markup, internal linking, and local citations all support one thing: hitting and sustaining the Contextual Density score that puts your pages above the competition. The science drives every decision.
What We Actually Believe
Specialization Isn't Optional
A general agency handling a plastic surgeon's website is genuinely doing that practice a disservice, not because they're incompetent but because they don't know what they don't know. E-E-A-T compliance, YMYL standards, clinical terminology, patient psychology: these take real time to develop. We have that, and we've built systems around it.
Results Should Be Measurable
We share SEMrush access with every client so they can track their own rankings daily. We guarantee movement within 90 days because when the methodology is applied correctly, it works on a predictable timeline.
Honesty Is the Baseline
The best thing we can do for a healthcare client is be straight about what's possible and then exceed it. No vague promises. No vanity metrics. Just rankings, traffic, and patients.
